Michael Wallner

Michael spent more than twenty years in the creative industries working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel, but creating original and innovative art is his true passion. His latest work celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes, outlines and colours that define its character. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in his portfolio.

His art is created by digitally manipulating and colouring his own photographs to produce unusual prints on aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, even 1930’s copper-lite windows. He also creates neon, magnetic, and L.E.D installations. His works on metal are printed on very thin sheets of brushed aluminium, giving the work an etched appearance.

Michael works out of his studio at Wimbledon Art Studios in South London. He is represented by Degree Art, Saatchi Art, Sister Gallery and Will’s Art Warehouse.

Recent exhibitions include The Affordable Art Fair (Battersea, Hampstead, Singapore, New York, Milan), The Other Art Fair, and The Open Studios Show at Wimbledon Art Studios. This year he will be exhibiting in London, Singapore, Milan and New York including A River Runs Through It – a group show featuring London-inspired art at gallery@oxo on London’s South Bank (see p.2).
